Piccoli aggiornamenti - gennaio

-Fisioterapia "istituzionale": stazionaria. Nina non piange più tutta l'ora (ma solo per 3/4 ah ah) come sempre le fa schifo stare a pancia sotto, ma ci viene messa lo stesso, quindi si incazza come un puma, evidenziando un caratterino niente male. La fisioterapista dice che sta migliorando in tutti quegli esercizi in cui non è in equilibrio ed anche nella posizione seduta;

Esempio: prima misurazione: errore.

Last but not least :

  2. Some update - January
In the picture the looooooong thigh of Nina, here exceptionally without the feeding probe (Naso-Gastric tube - NGT).
Yesterday and today we made some medical exams in the Pediatric Hospital and at the Policlinico.
I apologise with all of you who comment here and on FB and that send us dearest e-mails, but I'm extremely late with the answers, please have mercy :-)
But be sure that I ALWAYS read of you (actually we read of you; I prepare a press executive summary for Velcro DAD).

-General Growth: at the and we passed 6 kg: gastroenterologist is satisfied and told that the Microbe is growing well (WOOOOWWWWWW - yu-uh !!!) expecially in lenght!!!! Actually her long thighs will put in background her Yoda style little ears, ah ah ah !

Axis Hipotony: in very low voice I dare to say that we are out of it. Everyday we note little improvement, both for the head and in the hands' grip: objects are hold longer, used with the hands and even carried to the mouth (not always but often). Microbe wants to sit and now it is even possible to hold her on the arm seated slightly on her side. Remains a light head 's trembling, mainly when she is tired.

    -Official Fisiotherapy : Steady. Nina doesn't cry any longer for the whole period (only 3/4 of it, ah ah), as usual she's really pis### off when layning on her belly, but she is anyway put that way, and then she get really crazy as a fair, putting in light quite a character! The therapist says she is improving in all those exercises where she is not in ballance, as well as in the seated posture;

-Sucking/eating: No improvement compared to last month=very bad.
She can only eat maximum 60 ml by herself from the feeding bottle, but the result is not constant. The rest goes with the feeding probe. Attemps with fruit babyfood are persued, no more then a little spoon since everything remains there: she doesn't spit it but she doesn't swallow either :-(
Gastroenterologist yesterday took away a meal and now we are at 5 meals X 180 ml. In a month (yeeeees, time for the Pediatric Hospital is measured in months not in days or even in weeks!!) exams will be done to apply the PEG and take away the nose-stomach feeding probe, since option "less milk, more ipercaloric supplements" is not applicable, according to the doctor.

    1. In the mean time I put my name down for a miracle, but it seems they finished, so we'll be forced to do this surgery.
Audiology: we received several feedback authoritative (both for the source, and for beeing close to the family) according to which timing imposed by the hospital for the appointment is not that bad (March); so (since we are also very busy with other aspects on Nina's health and it is not humanly possible to do everything at the same time) I really regret very, very, very much but we decided to wait for the pediatric hospital, also to avoid a further general anestesy in another hospital.
Kidneys: We continue to monitor the pressure, as much as possible, but the machine often goes on error, or provides values extremely different: this because of the difficulty to measure it on such a tiny arm (nothwistanding the use of the "proper armband"). We write them anyway, but we don't have the slightest idea whether they are correct or not.
      e.g.: First attempt: error.
Second attempt after two minutes: 35-19 (that is supposed to be the one of a cactus).
Third measurement after other two minutes: 169-80 (equal to the one of a viking of 200 kg that has just finished to eat a whole boar with the necessary pints of beer).
Fourth measurement, just to settle things once and for all: error...BIIIIIIIPPP!
No, it is not the machine, is the Compulsive Mother that gets crazy!
We should have a visit at the Nephrologist (perhaps an X-ray to evaluate the evolution both of cistis and stones) beginning of February.

      Last but not least :

-Tyroide: Improved; lucky us that by ourselves had un intermediate medical check for Nina between November and February when she will be go again in the Hospital. Endocrinologist reduced the dosage of the medicine. Next medical check in 1 month time.
